Blog #4

  I chose the first grade standard relating to using different text features. The point of this standard is for students to be able to use a multitude of features online. These features include but are not limited to glossaries, tables, and headings. I feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set. I feel prepared because I understand the standard thoroughly and believe it is extremely important for my students to understand these concepts.  On the CPALMS webpage I chose the standard that related to being able to maintain your time wisely and be organized with all of your work. I believe this is an important standard that should be implemented in all classrooms. I believe all of these resources shown can be used in my teaching.   Copyright gives you the ability to protect the work that you’ve created which allows you to distribute it how you please. Fair use is what exactly you can use even though it is copyrighted. There are certain exceptions that allow you to access these protected works. As a teacher I would always want my students to be motivated in creating their own works. I believe that when students are completing assignments in which you gave them an example for, they tend to copy it with just a few small changes.  I believe that academic dishonesty and cyberbullying are two major technology implementation issues. In my own classroom, I would focus on trying to avoid both of these issues. I would try to maintain academic dishonesty by using websites such as turn it in to make sure there is no plagiarism in the students' work. As for cyberbullying, in all the platforms used in my class, I would make sure my students use their actual name and that there is no one in my platform that is not part of

 I have been using MS word since I was in middle school. However, when I got to high school I began using google docs more often. I found that it was easier to use and it had more features. I enjoyed that it auto saved everything as you wrote and it was easy to use offline. It was also easy to convert and save your file into any format.  ISTE Standards for Educators is an organization that targets educators interested in using technology in education. There are 7 standards that are each important. However, the one that is most meaningful to me is 2.4 the collaborator. This standard says that educators work with their peers and students to improve, learn new things, and solve problems. I think this standard is very important because I believe we learn more from each other than anything else.
